Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $66,259-$72,404.

Position description

The Department of Theatre and Dance, within the School of Arts & Humanities at UC San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. We are seeking applicants for temporary lecturer position(s) in theatre and dance disciplines. Appointment(s) may be for 1 or more quarters based upon the teaching needs of the department and funding availability.

Job duties and responsibilities for the Temporary Lecturer position include:

  1. Commitment of 10 weeks teaching per course.
  2. Demonstration of ability to teach undergraduate students and/or teach and advise graduate students.
  3. Creation of course syllabi with student assignments.
  4. Completion of grading through e-Grades system.
  5. Completion of Student Certification for the Commencement of Academic Activities.
  6. Provide at least 2 office hours per week, per course, to students for additional support. Office hours can be provided remotely.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Qualified candidates will possess an MFA (or 3-5 years of professional experience), or a PhD.

Qualified candidates will have at least three years of teaching experience or specialized field expertise in the theatre or dance discipline and strong demonstrated accomplishments in areas.
