The USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, the Office of Budget and Administration is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist.
The position serves as a dedicated senior human resources generalist professional for the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. The Senior Human Resources Generalist leads the coordination and implementation of HR plans, programs, procedures, and services. Additionally, they provide assistance and expertise in the areas of organizational development/workforce planning, hiring, performance management, compensation administration, training and development, disciplinary actions and terminations, employee relations, workforce analytics, employee records, and absence and timekeeping management.
The Senior Human Resources Generalist offers consultative services and assists faculty, staff, student workers, supervisors, managers, and administrators in resolving moderate to complex employment issues, complaints, and processing transactions. They will coach and advise employees regarding HR programs, practices, policies, and procedures, developing, applying, and interpreting school or department HR internal policies and procedures for program(s) and services. The Senior Human Resources Generalist also provides leadership, guidance, and direction to other HR staff as assigned.
This position is for a full-time hybrid position.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
- 5 years
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 7 years
- HR generalist experience in a university or similar setting
Compensation: The annual base range for this position is $94,277.28 - $110,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 5 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related human resources generalist experience. Strong knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration. Knowledge of human resources organizational development/workforce planning, recruitment, hiring, performance management, compensation administration, benefits, training and development, disciplinary actions, employee relations, affirmative action, disability, workers compensation, and information systems. Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations.
