The largest department in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, English offers Unit a range of undergraduate majors and concentrations, minors, and graduate programs. We also offer many courses of interest to the University community as a whole, and we work with other departments and programs —such as World Languages and Cultures, Women’s Studies, Communication, Education — to furnish multidisciplinary opportunities for NC State students.
Essential Job Duties
The Department of English is accepting applications for the position of Lecturer on a full- time and/or part-time basis for Summer 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 in areas such as:
- Composition
- Literature
- Linguistics
- Film Studies and Screenwriting
- Creative Writing
- Professional Writing
Other Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department head.
Minimum Education and Experience
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field and experience teaching at the college level. Degree must be obtained prior to start date. An advanced degree is required to teach courses at the graduate level
Other Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Special training or experience with online or blended/hybrid instruction
- Graduate coursework in writing pedagogy
