Disability Service Provider Network (DSPN) is seeking an experienced executive to lead our dynamic and growing association.

We represent the interests of disability service providers for both residential and non-residential services, including center-based and supported employment, job training and placement, competitive integrated employment, care management, Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRFs), Adult Family Homes (AFHs), supported living arrangements, day services, early intervention, and other services that enable people with disabilities and economic disadvantages to live and work in their local communities.

One of our critical and dynamic outreach initiatives for our providers and their clients is through the WisDOT Roadside Facilities Program. We coordinate services to dozens of roadside facilities throughout the state that are in turn serviced by their clients. The CEO will collaborate with the WisDOT Roadside Facilities (RF) program leadership.

Our CEO will advocate for our Association membership with state and federal elected officials. You will serve as the public spokesperson for DSPN on issues of policy and regulatory significance to both members and will register to lobby through the Wisconsin Ethics Commission. The core of the position is to build our association's membership.

POSITION: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

LOCATION: Madison, WI – with the opportunity to potentially work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

1. Advocacy – 20%

· Serve as spokesperson for DSPN on issues of policy and regulatory significance to members. You will also share our story with the public and state legislators

· Build and maintain positive relationships with state and federal decision makers along with long term care and DVR stakeholders

· Provide correct qualitative and quantitative information to inform decision makers

· Communicate and engage DSPN membership on advocacy priorities

· Seek out appointments to serve on influential task forces, committees, and councils

2. WisDOT Roadside Facilities Program Oversight -25%

· Provide support to the DSPN Director of Roadside Facilities Program Operations and actively collaborate with the WisDOT Roadside Facilities (RF) leadership

· Proactively seek feedback from WisDOT program staff and providers in the field on performance and contract deliverables. Ensure all contract deliverables are met and/or exceed DOT’s expectations.

3. Membership – 20%

· Guide membership value proposition with Director of Membership and Development

· Communicate often and visit members continuously to ask for feedback on the value of membership

· Constantly inform members of the benefits and services to both maintain and grow membership

· Provide membership with ongoing educational programs

4. Revenue/Program Development – 20%

· Cultivate high level, high value sponsorship of DSPN events

· Build relationships with philanthropic organizations aligned with DSPN priorities

5. Business Operations and Governance – 15%

· Explore opportunities advantageous to continued financial health of DSPN, efficiencies, financial institutions, outsourced functions and accounts

· Staff quarterly Board Meetings, and scheduled Executive Committee meetings, participate in other standing committees

· Work with the Executive Committee to continuously strengthen their understanding of critical issues

Desired Qualifications:

· Experience with Wisconsin’s disability community and a working knowledge of Wisconsin’s political environment and legislative process required.

· College degree in an associated field that will enhance your capabilities for this position required.

· Must have demonstrated success leading a team in an environment with evolving priorities and deadlines.

· Governance experience serving on a Board of Directors required.

· Must have experience with both Associations and Non-profits.

Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary work, exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally or a negligible amount.

Work/Environmental: Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment. Travel within Wisconsin as required for business meetings, education events, etc.

Personal/Physiological: Interaction with people, working around people, delegating work, and holding oneself and others accountable for meeting deadlines and finishing work, planning of activities, making judgments on a regular basis, frequent changes in duties and volume of work, intra-organizational and client communication.
