Job Description
Qualifications
- (a) Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in computing and registering data in financial records, accounts, or journals; or,
- (b) Two (2) years of clerical experience, and six (6) credits in accounting from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State
- For you to become a permanent employee, you must pass the examination and be reachable (Rule of Three) on the certified eligible list that results from the civil service examination for this position
Responsibilities
- Update and maintain third party accounts receivable daily
- Review student accounts for charges and payments, and calculate refunds
- Process cash, check, and credit card payments from students and post into finance system
- Process financial aid deferrals, scholarships, tuition deposits, transcript requests, ID replacements, parking sticker decal replacements, diploma replacements, and portfolio fees to students' accounts
- Assist students and potential students with any questions about tuition, fees, and payments
- Close out register each night, ensuring that actual payments match what is posted in finance system

It is the largest community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, enrolling more than 21,000 students at its three campuses in Selden, Brentwood, and Riverhead, as well as a Culinary Arts and Hospitality Center in Riverhead.
Currently, we are searching for a full time account clerk for our Ammerman campus business office.
Job Responsibilities :

Either:

Provisional Appointment – This position requires an appointment from a certified eligible list and currently there is no established list.
