Description
The Loan Coordinator is part of the Student Financial Services staff and works with prospective, new, or current students, and parents regarding financial aid, scholarships, work-study, residency applications, payment plans, and student billing questions. The Loan Coordinator must be knowledgeable of Federal, State and institutional rules, regulations and procedures related to financial aid and billing. This position will require a great deal of interaction with current and prospective students and parents and will entail frequent use of computer programs. It will also require the ability to read and reconcile student accounts, financial aid and loan records.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience (2-4 years) working in higher education financial aid office preferred.
Must have exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with students, parents, faculty, staff and the public.
Proven ability to deal and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population are required.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in any or all of the following: Banner (AR and FinAid), COD, NSLDS, CPS, Automic, TouchNet, Argos, Intellecheck, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, SICAS.
Knowledge of SUNY, NY State, and Federal regulations as it corresponds to billing and financial aid.
