Lincoln Land Community College is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Literacy Coordinator position in the Hillsboro/Litchfield/Taylorville area to assist literacy learners and support tutors. This non-benefited position will be an average of 10 hours a week and will pay $27.50/hour. This is a grant-funded position. Funding for this position has been secured through June 30, 2025.
Literacy Coordinators will be responsible for the following:
- Recruit volunteer tutors and literacy learners as part of the Adult Volunteer Literacy grant program
- Train tutors
- Track and record attendance hours and progress reports
- Participate in required professional development, training sessions, and departmental meetings
- Foster and maintain partnerships with local libraries, social service agencies, and community and service organizations
- Present program information to various community groups
- Meet recruitment objectives outlined in the grant
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Adult Education
- Excellent communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft Office
- Work schedule may include some evening hours as needed
- Valid driver’s license, travel required
