Job Summary: IVCC anticipates filling this full-time, tenure track position to begin January 2025. Teach and assess student learning outcomes in English courses. Develop and promote curriculum designed both as transfer courses to four-year colleges/universities, and applied degree programs. In collaboration with colleagues, be responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement within the context of IVCC’s general education philosophy. Facilitate student learning outside of the classroom through participation in student activities, college, and community events; and assist with student recruitment.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in English from an accredited college/university OR Master’s degree in a related field plus 18 graduate credit hours in English required. Ability to teach courses in a variety of formats (In-Person, Daytime, Evening, Online, Blended, and Dual Credit) and at various locations (main campus, extension campus, high school and dual credit locations). Background in Composition & Rhetoric; ability to teach English Composition, Developmental English, and Literature courses; previous teaching experience at the community college level; previous online teaching experience or familiarity with online pedagogy; familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies; and familiarity with academic assessment preferred. Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college.
