Job Description

Under general supervision of OR leadership, performs diagnostic trouble-shooting, identifies and documents any maintenance of equipment utilized in the operating room that may need repair such as sophisticated and complex electronic, electro-mechanical of biomed Operating Room equipment.
Examples include robotic devices, surgical tables, patient monitoring systems, other electro-mechanical microprocessor based instrumentation, and maintains other non-direct patient care equipment. Communicates with specialist tech or reps to initiate request of repairs or troubleshooting malfunctions to coordinate repair schedules and ensure follow through on repair completion. Create and maintain documentation of any equipment maintenance, issues and inventory and escalate to leadership as needed. Completes purchase requisitions for parts and supplies to maintain stock levels and inventory.
Maintain knowledge of equipment and cross trains other OR Equipment Assistants as needed. Provide additional range of duties including, assisting with the Clinical Support workflow through pick-up and transport of conscious/semi-conscious patients between treatment areas and nursing units via wheelchair, gurney, or bed, and support operating room with all types of lab specimen requests including blood supply requests. Complies with all infection control measures using universal precautions as appropriate and uses appropriate body mechanics for all work activities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- High School or GED.
- Three (3) years related experience.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
- 3 years of appropriate operating room experience.
- Experience working in an acute care equipment management environment.
- Operating room setting experience.
- Experience as an OR Assistant.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, and shifts based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
