Responsibilities*
Assist patients and visitors by opening doors, answering questions, providing emergency and directional assistance by using the telephone, or computer. Assist patients and visitors from or into private cars, ambulances, stretchers and wheelchairs with the aid of varies safety equipment devices. Escort patients and visitors to and from designated locations. Ensure access to building; maintaining entrance and driveways by moving traffic and performing such duties as sweeping, salting, and shoveling snow as required. Issue tickets and park motor vehicles for visitors and patients when requested or direct requestors to other available parking options.
Required Qualifications*
High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to tolerate outside adverse weather conditions. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients/visitors. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc. Computer knowledge. Must be able to lift patients in/out of vehicles, wheelchairs, etc. Must have good public relations skills. Customer Service experience desired.
Work Schedule
This position may require working day shift, afternoon shift, midnight shift, weekends, and holidays.
Modes of Work

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
