This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive and remote.
The University of California, San Diego Health System seeks an individual with knowledge in Mac workstation and iOS infrastructure management and application. The successful applicant will have a background in the installation, deployment, administration, security and maintenance of Mac and iOS devices in large enterprise environment. The incumbent will have demonstrated experience writing and editing complex scripts, namely bash or python, used to perform system maintenance and administration. The candidate will show advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and polices including demonstrated experience securing managed devices.
Provides 7/24 problem management support and resolution for all applications and operating system issues as part of the on-call rotation.
Incumbent will have advanced knowledge with a variety of software tools, including those related to support and implementation. Incumbents provide consultation and knowledge transfer with respect to system administration techniques and software components. The incumbent will have a good background in technical writing, documentation, and project management.
Advanced knowledge and experience engineering and administering systems in the following areas is preferred: Mac OS, iOS, JAMF, Intune or equivalent MDM systems. Azure Virtual Desktop, Apple device policies, and peripheral device management such as Printers, scanner and card readers. Hardware knowledge of the following system types is preferred: Apple Enterprise class computing hardware. Support knowledge and experience with Networking protocols and Cloud Computing technologies such as Azure SSO.
Assists with the management, support, and oversight of the Health Systems' Device Management platforms including JAMF, Intune, Printer Logic, and other device management systems as required. Incumbent assists with managing, maintaining, monitoring and securing (including data security) of all Health System devices including installations, upgrades, patches and documentation including an annual review of all systems. Collaborates with other Health System and Campus based teams as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSSeven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training
Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development, and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Demonstrated ability to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes.
Demonstrated ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis.
Ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users.
Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects; in-depth knowledge of organizational and project planning processes and ability to produce and maintain high quality planning documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Development and administration of formal technical training to users at a variety of levels.
Thorough understanding of client infrastructure management including: JAMF, Microsoft Intune, software deployment, remote application deployment, and incident management.
Working Knowledge of ITSM Practices.
JAMF and Apple Certifications
Advanced knowledge of MDM support systems including Intune and JAMF.
Working knowledge deploying and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop
CompTIA A+; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional experience and proven success serving as the technical administrator for hardware, operating systems, and network management.
Demonstrated experience writing and editing scripts used to perform system maintenance and administration.
Knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including proven experience securing server-based software.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $94,400 - $176,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $45.21 - $84.67
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
