Campus Security Officer
SALARY: $47,988 - $54,204
LOCATION: Lynnwood Washington

This is a classified position reporting to the Director of Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness (SSEP)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Two years of full-time college education in police science, safety, or emergency management or a related field, or two years of police, military police, or physical security experience, or equivalent mix of education/experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills including face to face and via telephone and portable radio.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Desire to meet and maintain the high standards set by the Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness Department
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively during stressful situations and manage stress appropriately.
- Ability to prioritize unplanned but required job duties with ongoing confirmed deadlines; flexible.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to surroundings.
- Exhibit ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities.
- Effectively use a computer for word processing, web activities, and written communication via email.
- Trained in defensive tactics, handcuffing, and de escalation skills, or willing to learn and practice these skills.
- Knowledge of fire extinguishers, National Incident Management System (NIMS), electronic lock systems, CCTV, and the Jeanne Clery Act.
